Having not seen any of Lloyd Kauffman's or Troma's work before I watched this film I wasn't sure what to think, but then again once I'd finished watching it I was still a little confused with the bizzare contents.
Toxie was a nerd, a 90lb weakling who worked in a gym. After years of embarassment he finally got a chance to enact his revenge. You see, he fell into a vat of toxic waste which turned him into a seven foot monster whose only aim in life was to wipe out all bad from his hometown, Tromaville and keep his wife happy.
This film was made with a low budget, and you can tell, the acting and FX are fairly poor, but the great scripting does manage to save this film, and in fact elevate it to the status of the cult classic. Because you see, although it may not be atmospheric or scary, this film is funny and gory, and these elements make it very easy and very fun to watch.
If you like comic horror, you will love this film, however if you don't then this film is guaranteed to be too OTT for your tastes.
